‘Yellowjackets’ sets surprisingly romantic Season 3 premiere date
Valentine’s Day is not a holiday that’s usually associated with cannibalism, but in 2025 it will be. “Yellowjackets,” the Emmy-nominated survival drama/psychological thriller/coming-of-age story/black comedy/supernatural mystery, is kicking off its highly anticipated third season on Friday, Feb. 14, Paramount+ with Showtime announced Tuesday.
Season 3 finds two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank joining the cast as a guest star. Her character is being kept under wraps for now. Joel McHale (“Community”) is also joining the cast in an undisclosed role.

The series follows the survivors of a plane crash, members of a high school girls’ soccer team in 1996, across two timelines, one in the past as they try to survive in the wilderness and the other in the present as what they did to survive comes back to haunt them. Season 3 will pick up in the aftermath of the Season 2 finale, which in the past timeline saw the Yellowjackets’ cabin burn down, leaving them without shelter, and Natalie (Juliette Lewis) dying in the present timeline.
The series is created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, who serve as showrunners with Jonathan Lisco. It has earned seven Emmy nominations throughout its run so far, including two for Best Drama Series and two Best Drama Actress nominations for Lynskey.
The first two episodes of “Yellowjackets'” 10-episode third season debut on Paramount+ with Showtime, the streaming service’s premium plan, on Feb. 14 and make its on-air debut on Sunday, Feb. 16.
