Generate Key Takeaways

Michael Corbett has been acting for several decades and has become well-known in the soap world. He’s best remembered as con artist David Kimble on The Young and the Restless from 1986 to 1991 and most recently appeared as Judge Evan Scott on The Bold and the Beautiful. The prolific actor is also a producer and has worked with psychic medium Tyler Henry on a couple of shows. Now, the two have a new series headed to Netflix.

Anything Could Happen

Known for producing the shows Mansions and Millionaires (2004), and Mansion Hunters (2014), Corbett teamed up with Henry to create two other series that he also executive produced: Life After Death with Tyler Henry (2022), and Hollywood Medium (2019 to 2022). Their latest project is Live From the Other Side, which will air on Netflix.

He spoke with Soap Opera Digest about this new venture, explaining that he loves that he can continue to both act and produce. He finds producing fun because he gets great satisfaction from seeing the finished product air. Managing Henry and overseeing the psychic’s tours across the country, he was inspired to make this new series after thinking, “What a great idea if we could bring the feeling of a live tour where he reads audience members to television.”

News From the Other Side

As luck would have it, Netflix had been pondering doing live TV, so Corbett’s idea was a perfect match. Enjoying the fact that the unexpected is possible on a live broadcast, along with Henry’s abilities getting stronger over the years, Corbett is enthusiastic. He described the premise: “There will be lots of celebrities bringing their friends and family on for each episode. Every episode is going to be completely different because it’s a different celebrity with a different set of family and friends.”

Henry will do readings for the guests but is not allowed to know who they are in advance, so he has no preconceived notions or influences. According to USA Today, his powers emerged at 10 when he successfully predicted his grandmother’s death.

The information he gains from the other side when doing a reading manifests in one or more of his five senses — for example, he knew someone had diabetes because he felt like he had no circulation in his toes during their reading. His eerie accuracy will enthrall the viewers!
