Young & Restless/Bold & Beautiful Exclusive: Latest Crossover Paving the Way for ‘One Big Hour-and-a-Half-Long Show’?
The crossover possibilities between The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful have been the hottest topic in daytime lately. Joshua Morrow gave Soaps.com his idea for “a cross-show couple” with Nick Newman and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Then, Melissa Claire Eagan and Mark Grossman weighed in with an idea for Chelsea and Adam “to escape their lie” in Los Angeles. While both stories are on the actors’ wish lists, the real crossover is happening with Michael Damian and Lauralee Bell when Danny and Cricket land on the West Coast amid his very busy tour schedule.
The characters will be on The Bold and the Beautiful on Aug. 13 and 14 where they celebrate Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) the relaunch of her fashion line, Brooke’s Bedroom. Of course, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) also has a business prospect for them and Danny isn’t going to miss a festive opportunity to sing “Rock On.” If that wasn’t enough, Damian teased more details to Soaps.com, sharing that “there’s a bunch of little surprises and there’s some drama going on in the background — we’re just drinking champagne for two days straight.”

Bell chimes in with a laugh, “And then there’s some family drama that we’re like, ‘We don’t care, we’re in LA.'” The “huge deal” that they’re alluding to sets the stage for a future Young and the Restless crossover with Bold and the Beautiful. The possibilities are endless! Will Cricket and Danny be back in Los Angeles or is the new business going to bring some West Coasters to Genoa City?
Well, Bell gave us an answer we weren’t expecting. “I think fans love that,” she says. “I speak of Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman) when we’re together and I just think that as soon as you can talk about different characters on different shows with the show that you’re in, and the fans understand, ‘Oh my gosh, right. Lauren knows the Forresters very well.’ It’s like a beautiful song.”
For emphasis, she then adds, “So, we should just all become one big hour-and-a-half-long show.” Well, wouldn’t that be something?! It’s not a bad idea for the cast to scoot across the hall at Television City and make some storyline magic. Los Angeles is only a plane ride away from Genoa City, and it’s a creative way to add to the endless drama. Count us in!
