Young & Restless’ Jason Thompson Suffers An Injury That Leaves Castmate Asking, Are ‘They Gonna Have to Amputate?’

It’s never fun when someone suffers an injury and is left dealing with the resulting pain and bruises that follow. The Young and the Restless’ Jason Thompson (Billy) recently was caught up in a situation that not only presented him with a “perfect birthday present” but a “perfect reminder” that he’s getting older.

Last Friday, the CBS soap star celebrated his birthday and the following day he received quite the present… in the form of a massive black and blue bruise that lit up his right thigh. “I got the perfect birthday present on Saturday afternoon,” he shared. “The perfect reminder that I’m getting a little long in the tooth.”

Thompson went on to explain that he was getting ready to play adult league soccer and how things took a turn 15 minutes into his warm-up. He was “taking some shots on the goalie and pop! Felt it, heard it, really, really uncomfortable, look at this,” he stated in an Instagram video where he then lifted up his shorts to expose a huge bruise on his left leg. “Purple all the way, gnarliness, told my doctor, ‘What’re you gonna do expect take it as a lesson to be better.’ Dr. Locke, I’m coming to see you.”
Not only did the obviously painful bruise leave fans feeling for the star, a few of his castmates jumped into the comments with their thoughts. Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) clearly didn’t know about his injury and gasped, “And you let me complain about my shoulder today?!” as Michael Graziadei (Daniel) tried to lighten up the siltation by joking, “WTF! They gonna have to amputate?”

In all seriousness, we’re glad it’s just a bruise — a big one at that — and hope the actor feels better soon so he can get back on the field in tiptop shape.
