Intending to conclude Young Sheldon with quite a bang, The Big Bang Theory alums Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will serve as guest stars on the series finale of the CBS sitcom. They will reprise their Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler roles in the May 16 episode of the series.

Warner Bros. Television announced the exciting news, though details about the series finale and how the creatives will incorporate Parsons and Bialik into the show remain hidden. Both Parsons and Bialik’s characters have not appeared on screen together since The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019, making Young Sheldon’s finale double as grown-up Sheldon and Amy’s remarkable reunion.

Parsons, however, has been a part of The Big Bang Theory prequel since its debut in 2017. The actor served as one of the show’s executive producers as well as the narrator. On the other hand, Bialik lent her voice on two episodes of Young Sheldon.

Iain Armitage stars as the younger version of Sheldon (thus the title) in the series that revisits the titular character’s earlier years — from skipping four grades to going to high school along with his less intellectual older brother.

Will there be a Young Sheldon spin-off?

News about a Young Sheldon spin-off started to surface earlier this year and was ordered by CBS in March. The spin-off, which will focus on Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister’s lives in Texas, will see the return of Montana Jordan and Emily Osment as the characters they played in the original series.

Created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, Young Sheldon also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, and Matt Hobby. The sitcom is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Consisting of 14 episodes, the seventh and final season of Young Sheldon premiered on February 15 and will air through May 16 on CBS.
