Young Sheldon’s George Sr. Looks Unrecognizable in Post-Death Reunion Photo
It’s a Cooper family reunion on the set of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Leading man Montana Jordan (aka Georgie) and guest star Raegan Revord (Missy) are all smiles as they pose for a photo with Young Sheldon dad Lance Barber on the set of the CBS spinoff. Their reunion comes three months after beloved patriarch George Sr. died of a heart attack in the Big Bang Theory prequel’s third-to-last episode.

“Very cutesy, very mindful,” Revord captioned her Instagram post. Meanwhile, TVLine has confirmed that Barber was strictly on set for a visit. As previously reported, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will feature guest appearances by Young Sheldon vets Annie Potts (Meemaw) and Zoe Perry (Mary) in Episode 1, and Revord (Missy) in Episode 2. The multi-camera offshoot will follow the titular couple (played by Jordan and Emily Osment) “as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage,” according to the official logline. Will Sasso (Jim) and Rachel Bay Jones (Audrey) also star.
The series’ title is a play on previously established Big Bang Theory lore: In the hit sitcom’s 2019 series finale, Nobel Prize winner Sheldon said he received congratulatory texts from Georgie’s ex-wife… and Georgie’s other ex-wife.
During a recent interview with TVLine, Osment expressed hope that the spinoff would find a way to undo (or at the very least tinker with) Georgie’s marital history.
“I’m hoping that I’m the ex-wife and the new wife,” she said. “People get divorced and remarried. Why can’t she be both?”
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage premieres Thursday, Oct. 17 at 8/7c on CBS.
