Your TV To-Do List: So Many Finales, So Little Time
With so much to watch on TV, it can be difficult to plan ahead. But we’re here to help! Here are the seven finales — and one premiere — you won’t want to miss this week.
Bones: Tuesday at 9 p.m. on Fox
After 12 seasons of digging up calcified evidence, Brennan and Booth are overdue for some “us” time. Here’s to a nice long break from dem bones, dem bones, dem deeply buried bones.
Legion: Wednesday at 10 p.m. on FX
Last week’s penultimate episode of Legion finally cleared up what’s going on in FX’s merry mutant party… we think. Either way, David’s inaugural adventure is coming to a close, and we’re hoping that he heads into hiatus with his mind fully intact and free of any monsters.
Five Came Back: Friday on Netflix
In a week dominated by finales, Netflix is premiering a number of new series, including 13 Reasons Why and Bordertown. But movie buffs will want to dedicate their binge-watching time to this three-part documentary based on Mark Harris’s superb account of how World War II shaped the lives and work of legendary Hollywood directors like John Ford and Frank Capra.
Grimm: Friday at 8 p.m. on NBC
Sleepy Hollow: Friday at 9 p.m. on Fox
The Grimms and the Witnesses prepare for their respective final battles as Grimm ends its six-season run, and Sleepy Hollow airs a Season 4 finale that could become a series finale, depending on Fox’s fall development slate. If you’re looking for a cult supernatural series to replace these two, allow us to recommend the CW’s iZombie, which returns on April 4.
Big Little Lies: Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO
Black Sails: Sunday at 9 p.m. on Starz
The Walking Dead: Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC
Get your DVRs ready, because Sunday is a busy night for farewells. After your live viewing of The Walking Dead‘s seventh-season ender, circle back to learn the answers to the mystery at the heart of Big Little Lies. Then decompress from all that tension with the series finale of Starz’s pirate series, best enjoyed by hoisting a bottle of rum with a hearty “Yo ho ho.”
