Yvette Nicole Brown on Replacing Chris Hardwick at Comic-Con: ‘I Am Filling in for a Friend’

Yvette Nicole Brown, who is replacing Chris Hardwick as the moderator for two AMC panels at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, said that she is not angling for the host’s job and tweeted that she is just “filling in for a friend, which I have done before.”

“I am not jockeying for a job,” the “Talking Dead” regular also said in a tweet on Wednesday.

Brown will moderate panels for “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead” on Friday, July 20. She steps in for Hardwick, who was pulled from the fan convention last month.

AMC has distanced itself from Hardwick, a Comic-Con mainstay and regular host of AMC’s many after-shows, after his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Dykstra, appeared to accuse him of emotional abuse last month in a post published on Medium. The network shelved his upcoming talk show and removed him from its Comic-Con schedule.

“We have had a positive working relationship with Chris Hardwick for many years. We take the troubling allegations … very seriously,” the network said at the time.

“Talking With Chris Hardwick,” which was slated to premiere in June, was also pulled from the schedule. The network said it was working to “assess the situation” and would “take appropriate action based on the outcome.”

Brown, a self-proclaimed “Walking Dead” fan who has frequently appeared on the AMC post-show, was among several names raised by fans as a potential replacement for Hardwick.
