Zendaya’s Fierce Loyalty to Louboutin Continues on the Met Gala 2024 Red Carpet

Zendaya is on a Louboutin roll.
After being one of the first celebrities on the 2024 Met Gala red carpet wearing a collaborative pair of green Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela Paris heels, Zendaya closed the carpet in yet another Louboutin pair. The star is a longtime fan of the brand, and has stepped out in So Kate pumps almost exclusively to promote her film “Challengers.” She wore the pump most recently on Sunday night as she attended a pre-party for the Met Gala.
For her second look, the actress and her longtime collaborator Law Roach selected a gown from a 1996 couture collection by John Galliano for Givenchy. It completed a series of looks — her pre-Met Gala look was from John Galliano’s own label while her first red carpet look was a Maison Margiela recreation of a Christian Dior creation by the designer — that paid homage to the creative. “It’s a celebration of John Galliano past and present,” Roach told FN of the decisions previously.
About the Shoe
For the all-black look, Zendaya selected the Christian Louboutin Marchavekel Black Satin Platform stiletto. The shoe features a tall stiletto heel and a chunky platform, providing additional height — this likely proved necessary as the “Euphoria” actress was wearing a gown with ample train.
The shoe was a D’Orsay silhouette meaning that the the sides were cutout, revealing the arch of the foot. It also prominently features a knot at the vamp above the peep-toe. There’s also an ankle strap with a buckle fastening for additional security.
The shoes feature Louboutin’s trademark red sole.
Earlier in the night, Roach also slid into a pair of Louboutin shoes. He wore the brand’s Aiglon black and white patent leather loafer. Donald Glover, Maluma and Colman Domingo have all worn th ebi-color shoes before.
The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” celebrates the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit. The 2024 event is notably co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
