Zendaya Goes Blue, Bad Bunny Suits Up With Corset, Gwendoline Christie Delivers Drama and More Met Gala 2024 Red Carpet Arrivals
Fashion’s Super Bowl returned on Monday as the Met Gala kicked off in New York. Stars from all corners of entertainment (read: music, film and social media) gathered to celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, as well as its latest exhibit, entitled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Zendaya
Zendaya’s Maison Margiela couture look was composed of a sage lamé and organza bias-cut dress worn over a duchess satin corset. Her dress featured a drape and bow layered with aluminum and iridescent organza, and a corsage hand-embroidered with natural motifs hand-painted in electric blue and emerald, green. Zendaya’s hand-painted fascinator, wrapped in stockings, was created by Stephen Jones for Maison Margiela, and her custom Tabi pumps were crafted by Christian Louboutin.
Ashley Graham
Ashley Graham wore a chainmail Ludovic de Saint Sernin gown based on a design from the label’s fall 2024 collection. Her corseted frock included a floor-length stole and a floral pattern along the bodice.
Gwendoline Christie
Gwendoline Christie’s custom Maison Margiela look featured a black tulle opera coat with bands of black crinoline worn over a blood orange silk velvet bias-cut dress and a satin couture corset. She carried a one of the label’s 5AC bags wrapped in laddered stockings, completing her ensemble with Tabi pumps by Christian Louboutin for Margiela.

Bad Bunny
Maison Margiela creative director John Galliano created a bespoke couture look for co-chair Bad Bunny, which was composed of a midnight blue barathea wool smoking jacket with black grosgrain lapels, which was worn over a custom black satin corset. He accessorized with leather gloves, silk socks and a foam hat. Bad Bunny’s leather Tabi boots, worn with spats, were created by Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela.
Emma Chamberlain
Emma Chamberlain’s custom Jean Paul Gaultier look featured a strapless silhouette, corsetry and a floor-length train. The influencer returned to host Vogue’s red carpet coverage of the Met Gala.

The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” nods to the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, which will open to the public on Friday. The 2024 event is notably co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
