KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Eastman Credit Union (ECU) is marking 90 years of serving its members.
The credit union officially hit the mark on Tuesday after forming in 1934.

“In 1934, some executives of Eastman Chemical Company saw a need and sought a solution,” said Kelly Price, president and CEO of Eastman Credit Union. “And that is why we’re here today. To be able to serve our members and meet the needs of our communities for 90 years is just an outstanding achievement so we have been celebrating.”
Price attributed the credit union’s success to several factors but thanked the communities ECU serves most of all for their support.
“We love being a part of our communities and going out and supporting them in various ways,” Price said. “Whether that’s helping in the school systems, whether that’s non-profits that we contribute to, [there are] many, many things in the community we like being a part of, and we think it’s an important part of being who we are here at Eastman Credit Union.”
