Taps, trivia, more to come to Lubbock with The Brass Tap
UPDATE: A company spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday, June 16, that The Brass Tap is expected to open on Sept. 6.
Southwest Lubbock's bustling business scene is set to see a taphouse and restaurant open this summer, with the possibility of more locations later.
The Brass Tap, a Florida-based brewpub franchise that started in 2008, confirmed it will open at 11108 Slide Road, Suite 600.
Rebecca Samaniego, Lubbock co-franchisee with her husband, Robert, said they decided to bring The Brass Tap to Lubbock due to Robert's family history in the business. Robert was raised around his father's restaurants and bars in El Paso, and developed a passion for the industry.

"Naturally, it's something that I'm wanting to get into with him," Rebecca Samaniego said. "The Brass Tap has an unparalleled atmosphere, and there's a lot for us to offer the community. It can be a really nice place to come hang out with friends, do a little socializing, watch some sports, just kick back and have a nice time."
One of the main things The Brass Tap is known for is a large selection of drinks.
"One of our big strategies is to go to the local breweries and put as much local beer on the taps as we possibly can," said Chris Elliott, CEO of The Brass Tap. "You'll see every style of beer that you can think of, from porters, stouts to lagers and sours."
The Lubbock location will include local beers, wine, specialty cocktails and mimosa flights on the weekend.
There will be events, including tap takeovers, exclusive beer tastings, trivia nights and live music.
"My favorite thing that I'm most excited for is most definitely trivia night," Samaniego said. "I think that's going to be really exciting and fun."

The food menu will offer a variety of gourmet burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, wings and other items.
"My favorite food item is a tie between the fish and chips and the Blackberry Farm Gourmet Grilled Cheese," Samaniego said. "Robert's favorite is the Sweet Heat BBQ Bacon Burger."
It is expected to add 30-35 jobs, and is expected to open late this summer.
Elliott said another way the company stands out is with The Brass Tap Brew Crew app. The app will allow users to keep track of the different brews they have tried.
The Brass Tap in Lubbock will have a Facebook and Instagram for followers closer to the opening date. People can also visit the website at brasstapbeerbar.com.
"I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere, and with the quality of the food and variety of beer and cocktails," Elliott said. "We are excited to be opening in Lubbock, the owners are great people, and I think they'll be very successful."
Pending the success of the first Lubbock location, Elliott believes the Hub City could support up to three locations.
Elliott said The Brass Tap expects to see around 13 new locations in 2024, many of those being in Texas cities. These will further the business' current stretch of 45 locations across 15 states.
