Argentum Re, a Miami-Florida reinsurance broker, has been officially designated as a Lloyd's broker.

This status makes Argentum Re the second broker in Miami-Florida and the sixth in the US to hold this distinction.

Argentum Re, established in 2018 by industry veterans Raul Perez and Alejandro Rebolledo, focuses on Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.

Lloyd's broker status allows Argentum Re to directly access the capacities of the Lloyd's market, which is expected to improve service offerings to its global clients.

This direct engagement with Lloyd's will enable the company to access new markets, products and business lines more flexibly.

Argentum Re's expertise covers various sectors including aviation, cargo, casualty, financial lines, political violence and property, providing customised reinsurance solutions and service.

In May this year, Argentum Re welcomed Braulio Pollavini as the head of financial lines and casualty.

With a career specialising in financial lines and general civil liability, Pollavini joined the company to lead the practice for Latin America.

Perez said: “We are deeply grateful to Lloyd’s for their support throughout this process. This achievement not only highlights our commitment to excellence but also enhances our capability to serve our clients with an even higher level of efficiency and effectiveness.”

Rebolledo added: “Becoming a Lloyd’s broker is a significant milestone for us. It allows us to bring Lloyd’s exceptional capacities directly to our clients, offering them unparalleled service and innovative solutions.

“We will continue to work closely with our correspondent brokers while leveraging this new status to explore new opportunities and deliver enhanced value to our customers.”

In April, Jennifer Gonzalez was incorporated as the head of property and political violence.

Gonzalez, with a background as a property and political violence underwriter and a career as a reinsurance broker specialising in property, joined Argentum Re to strengthen the property and casualty practice.

"US-based Argentum Re secures Lloyd’s broker status " was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a GlobalData owned brand.
