DIY Skinny Caramel Latte for Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift must be tired. It isn’t easy being the first female solo artist to play back-to-back stadium tours across America, all the while keeping up with an ever-expanding roster of besties. (Selena Gomez, Lorde, Karlie Kloss, and Ed Sheeranto name a few.) It’s no wonder that in the most recent issue of Lucky Magazine, Swift copped to a serious caffeine habit.

"Coffee’s a big part of my life," she told the publication. "Skinny caramel lattes are a daily thing that I get excited about and I never stop being excited about." And just because she’s Taylor Swift, the pop star added: "So if I could just find one person who I felt that way about—the way I feel about coffee—then I think I’d be in a content relationship."

We don’t know how much assistance we can be in the romance department, but coffee? We’ve got coffee.

Real talk, Taylor: If you purchase a tall skinny caramel latte at Starbucks every day for a year at $3.25 a pop, that’s $1,186.25 annually. That’s more than the price of a MacBook Pro! It might be time to begin making your own skinny caramel lattes at home.

Sure, it’s not like Swift needs the money. After all, she topped Billboard’s list of top money makers in 2014. But album sales across the music industry hit a new low this year, and one can never be too careful. Finding a latte-loving boyfriend may be your short-term goal, Taylor, but prudent financial planning is a lifelong endeavor.

This recipe over on the blog 24 Carrot Life is a great place to start your DIY skinny caramel latte journey. It doesn’t even require a fancy contraption, since the airy foamed milk is made with the help of an electric mixer. The homemade caramel sauce is a breeze, too—all you need to do is simmer a single can of sweetened condensed milk in water for three hours.

If that sounds too labor-intensive, Torani sells a ready-made caramel sauce, plus a brinier salted caramel syrup. (Here’s the company’s skinny latte recipe.)

Good luck, Taylor. In both lattes and love.
