Holiday Spice Cake with Eggnog Buttercream

Portuguese Girl Cooks, a food blog from Toronto, brings us today’s spiced cake. Who’s the girl? Jessica DaSilva, an avid baker, picture-taker, wife, and mom. “Baking is in my blood,” says DaSilva, whose grandparents used to run a pastry shop.
For this simple yet stunning holiday dessert, DaSilva starts with three 8-inch layers of cake made from molasses- and winter spice-heavy batter. Next, she whips buttercream frosting with rum and nutmeg.
