Neapolitan Cake

Linda Lomelino lives in “a small town on the lovely Swedish west coast,” where she photographs and writes her “sweet food” blog, as she calls it, Call Me Cupcake. Lomelino’s infatuation for cakes started as a child; her mother was an expert baker.
Now all grown up, Lomelino is an accomplished author who has published three books—Lomelino’s Cakes, Lomelino’s Ice Cream, and Sweet Food & Photography—which have been translated into German, French, Dutch, Finnish, and English. (Go Linda!)
This brings us to today’s #yahoofoodcakeoftheday, a sophisticated take on a classic Neapolitan cake, which is traditionally a combination of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors. For Lomelino’s version, she bakes vanilla and chocolate cakes and ices them together with strawberry meringue buttercream. She also shares her recipe for macarons, but we think you could garnish the cake with store-bought ones if you’re pressed for time. Check out Call Me Cupcake for the recipe and some (breathtaking!) photos.
