Pink Ombré Almond Cake with Cherry Jam
Photo: Yossy Arefi
Yossy Arefi began her career as a professional baker working in New York restaurants. Then, she picked up a camera and said goodbye to her chef uniform. Now a full-time photographer, she still gets her baking kicks by publishing recipes on her blog, Apt. 2B Baking Co., where she also styles and shoots everything. Soon, Arefi will be able to add cookbook author to her bio: Her first is set to be published by Ten Speed Press in 2016.
This cake, though! Layered with almond-flavored dough and homemade cherry jam, Arefi says raspberry or apricot preserves would work, too. To create the ombré icing effect, she dyes three batches of buttercream frosting various shades of pink. Check out her recipe for the full instructions.
