Salted Caramel Apple Snickers Cake
Photo: Tieghan Gerard
Tieghan Gerard started reading food blogs at the age of 13, cooking at the age of 15, and, soon after that, she took over making meals for her family of eight. The kitchen of her Frisco, Colorado home (well, her parents’ Frisco, Colorado home) is now her domain; there, Gerard creates and photographs the original recipes she develops for her blog Half Baked Harvest. Her five-year old sister is her trusted taste-tester.
Gerard admits that her Salted Caramel Apple Snickers Cake, pictured here, is high-maintenance: there are branches, there are caramel apples, there is chocolate ganache. But “[g]etting carried away in chocolate is always a fun thing,” she writes. True.
The cake’s batter is a chocolate spiced apple cake frosted with a Snickers-flavored icing so delicious she calls it “spoonful-worthy.” Check out Gerard’s recipe for tips and more (including a GIF of molten caramel!).
