An amateur baker in the United Kingdom won the Cake International contest with this eerily lifelike confection made to resemble Britain’s Prince George.
Lara Mason, who is 29 and from northern Ireland, told the BBC, “Prince George is one of the most famous children and I wanted to do my nod to the Royal Family.”

The cake stands about three feet tall, and features Prince George in a red shorts and white top with red embroidery, which is the outfit he wore to his sister Princess Charlotte’s christening.
Mason said the creation took about 30 hours to make. The key to her successful cake, she said, was having a strong structure to build on. She used metal rods and wood to create the frame of his body, and then layered on cake, icing, butter cream, and chocolate. She says with this method, you can use “Anything your heart desires — Willy Wonka on a plate.”
This isn’t Mason’s first foray into celebrity cake baking. She’s also created confections made to resembled Jennifer Lawrence and Johnny Depp. She says she learned to decorate cakes by watching YouTube videos.
