Kathie Lee Gifford Issues Bold Response to Fans Suggesting 'She's Getting Old' During 'Today' Reunion With Hoda Kotb
Kathie Lee Gifford may be getting older, but she won't stand for off-color commentary coming from people in the same boat.
During a trip to her old stomping grounds, as seen in a video posted on Instagram, the TV personality clapped back at her critics.
"Everyone always asks me, 'What's Kath doing?'" Hoda Kotb admitted to her former co-star as the author dropped by Today to chat about her new book, Herod and Mary: The True Story of the Tyrant King and the Mother of the Risen Savior.
"Who cares?" Gifford interjected, adding, "She's getting old," as Kotb dissolved into laughter beside her.
It seems to be a sore spot—perhaps a criticism she often hears from outsiders—as she was quick on her feet with a witty remark.
"And you know what?" she continued. "So are all of you! At the exact same pace; one second at a time—so don't talk about how old I look, okay?"
Kotb pulled herself together just enough to tell Gifford, "You are crazy," before the video uploaded by the morning show ended.
Fans were thrilled to see Gifford, who is looking and sounding fabulous after "the most painful" recovery from her hip replacements, back at the plaza—and especially reunited with her former co-host.
"She is one of a kind! Quite witty and hilarious! Miss the two together ??," one wrote in response.
"She’s crazy hilarious. So honest and beautiful. I miss their combination and hearing this constant laughter. We could use more laughter these days.??," said another.
"Love KLG!!! Wish she'd come back and work with you Hoda!" a third replied. "She is funny and so loving!"
