It’s no secret that yoga is a balance-building practice. But did you ever consider how improving balance also improves ability to focus?

“We have to concentrate and still our gaze, which ultimately quiets our mind,” yoga expert Kent Katich tells Yahoo Health.

To balance successfully, it’s necessary to engage the core muscles, such as the gluteus medius, obliques, and transverse abdominis, Katich says.
