Adam Rosante's Top Tips For A Healthy Smoothie
When they’re full of good-for-you fruits and vegetables and healthy fats and protein, smoothies can make for an easy, satisfying meal. But they can also turn into a sugar- and calorie-bomb pretty quickly if you’re not careful. Fortunately for you, fitness and nutrition coach Adam Rosante has some quick tips to whip up a healthy drink. They include:
Always adding a green. Adam likes kale, but everything from spinach to cilantro will add fiber and antioxidants.
Blending in some nut butter or avocado for satiety — just make sure your fat of choice doesn’t contain added sugar.
Sticking to low-calorie liquids, such as water, black coffee, or unsweetened almond milk. If you’re adding fruit and fat, you won’t miss the extra flavor.
Topping it off! Try adding nuts, seeds, or shredded coconut — Adam’s favorite — to your blended smoothie to mix up the texture.
