Our breakfast plates often feature eggs, but what’s quotidian doesn’t have to be dull. From shakshuka to omelets, the variety of what we can produce with the humble egg is staggering.

But a little morning inspiration is always appreciated. Enter Yumna Jawad. The influencer and recipe developer has 4.6 million followers on Instagram as @feelgoodfoodie. When she recently ran out of her favorite everything bagels, she came up with a replacement that may be even better.

First, she makes her own everything bagel seasoning, which combines white and black sesame seeds, minced garlic and onions, poppy seeds and flaky sea salt. Though you can buy the blend pre-packaged, it can be even more delicious homemade.

In her Instagram reel, Jawad lubricates her pan with a little olive oil, then dumps two liberal spoonfuls of everything seasoning straight onto the heated skillet. She cracks an egg atop each layer of the flavoring. “The seasoning gets so crispy and infuses the oil,” Jawad explains.

She finishes her dish by toasting a plain bagel and mashing avocado on top to create a tempting take on avocado toast.

Of course, fried eggs aren’t the only way to use everything bagel seasoning. Other applications include using it in a Benedict, frittata or shakshuka. The allium-rich blend is also excellent beaten into scrambled eggs or quiche.

But don’t feel limited to using everything bagel seasoning to dress up breakfast. Our favorite recipes that center on the mix are even more diverse than its ingredients. You can whip up snacks, such as seasoned almonds or roasted pumpkin seeds. It adds a punchy zip to sides like cheesy cauliflower casserole and crispy roasted potatoes. And if you want to incorporate everything bagel seasoning into lunch or dinner, it's great on chicken. We love it mixed into breadcrumbs for chicken tenders or coating chicken cutlets served in a creamy spinach sauce.

The moral of the story: Everything bagel seasoning is a scrumptious addition to, well, just about everything.
