It also noticeably brightened my complexion.

Ah, how quickly my summer glow (achieved with SPF, of course) has come and gone. And all that’s left behind is a dull complexion and the fine lines that are creeping into my 41-year-old skin. Of course, I’m no stranger to the concept of wrinkles that come with age, but really, I wasn't prepared for them at this point in my life. So I’m always game for trying new products to help restore my youthful radiance.

I recently received samples of the Versed Photos, Please: Brightening, Tightening Mask, and I was impressed and a bit amused by its pouch packing that resembles my kids’ applesauce. But I soon appreciated how easy it was to squeeze the right amount out and apply it to my face without sticking my fingers into a messy jar. After using the mask twice a week for three weeks, I discovered that the most problematic lines around my eyes (crow’s feet) and mouth (smile lines) looked smoother, less creased, and more filled-in. On top of that, I had a more vibrant coloring to my post-summer skin. And right now, you can get it on sale for just $10.

The mask uses red kaolin clay and turmeric, rich in antioxidants, to exfoliate off dead skin and reveal a brighter complexion. The two team up with witch hazel, an ingredient I've incorporated into my skincare for as long as I can remember, to shrink your pores, reduce any irritation, and make skin look and feel tighter.

I’ve had several facials in my life, but the first few uses of this mask mimicked the after-effects of visiting the aesthetician. I’m officially deeming it my facial in a pouch thanks to its dual purpose brightening and smoothing benefits, both for my skin’s bumpy texture and deepening fine lines. Plus, it’s fun to use. The clay mask goes on easily and doesn’t require much to spread across my whole face, so don’t let the small pouch deceive you. I left it on for the recommended 15 minutes, and while it did begin to dry, at no point did I feel uncomfortable, too stiff, or have any sort of burning or irritation that my naturally dry and sensitive skin has felt in the past.

All it took to fully remove it was a cool washcloth, but once I did, my skin felt soft, hydrated (not stripped of moisture like other masks have done), and over time, less creased. A 42-year-old shopper similar in age to me called the mask “incredible” since now their “skin is so much softer, pores are smaller, and it’s so much brighter.” Another shopper shared that after using the mask, their “skin is smooth.” They said it’s their “go-to face mask” for when their “pores just feel clogged and congested.” Also like me, a third reviewer said they “look like they got a facial” because their skin is “firm, bright, dewy,” and most noticeably, they found “firmness [and] elasticity” has improved.

I’m keeping the Versed Photos, Please: Brightening, Tightening Mask in my back pocket (literally, because it can fit) for when I need to give my skin a radiant and firming boost. For even more facials in a pouch on sale for only $10 from Versed, keep scrolling.
