There are countless reasons to plan a honeymoon to Italy: the incredible food, the rich history and culture, those beautiful coastal towns, world-class wine, and did we mention the food? Based on our Honeymoon Diary submissions, the boot-shaped country always seems to top our readers' list—which is why we wanted to find out which cities are the best for romance. To determine the list, we partnered with the Foursquare city guide app and the check-in app Foursquare Swarm. Of course, there are the obvious choices (Amalfi Coast, anyone?), but a few may surprise you. (Stay tuned for the most romantic spots in France and the Caribbean!)
Corniglia
The lowdown: This charming village is one of the five that makes up Cinque Terre, set on the Italian Riviera coast. The best way to experience the area is to hike from town to town.
Foursquare tip: "It's a super rocky trail to Corniglia, mostly uphill from Vernazza. Make sure to bring supportive shoes." — Christine Wang, Hong Kong
Hotel to book: Le Terrazze B&B is run by two sisters and has three color-themed rooms (green, pink, and blue).
