So, if you're like me, I binge-watched Season 2 of Bridgerton the moment I could, and did a rewatch already.

And now you find yourself wanting more period dramas, but maybe don't want to take on another full series.

So here are some movies that should help you with your Bridgerton withdrawal:

1.Pride & Prejudice (2005)

I mean, if you didn't think of this movie when I said "period drama," then I don't know where you've been since 2005. It's romantic, satirical, sexy, and funny. And the chemistry between Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen is electric. Oh, the hand twitch!

Focus Features

2.Belle (2013)

This historical drama is inspired by a portrait of Dido Elizabeth Belle and her cousin Lady Elizabeth Murray. It was Gugu Mbatha-Raw's breakthrough role and tells a different story than we usually get in all of these kinds of dramas.

Fox Searchlight Pictures

3.Emma. (2020)

As the newest Jane Austen film adaptation, Anya Taylor-Joy is the famous meddler Emma and this movie is charming. It's fun and filled with bright colors with gorgeous costumes.

4.Atonement (2007)

How does one choice by a little girl who thinks they know what happened in a certain situation affect the rest of their lives? The chemistry between Keira Knightley and James McAvoy is beautiful, and features a young Saoirse Ronan in her first big role; you can see how bright her future turned out to be. And oh, that green dress.

Universal Pictures

5.Little Women (2019)

I know people love the 1994 adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's seminal novel, but I think Greta Gerwig's is the definitive and most faithful to the novel. It's of the time, but still feels contemporary, and features great performances from this all-star cast.

Sony Pictures Releasing

6.Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019)

Oh my god, this film. How this wasn't France's selection for the Oscars in the International Feature category is beyond me. There's a reason it's called Portrait of a Lady on Fire, because sheesh, it's hot in here.

Pyramide Films

7.Sense and Sensibility (1995)

The only major film adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, and why would you need another after this one? With director Ang Lee and an Oscar-winning screenplay by Emma Thompson, who also stars. This film is faithful to the novel and its spirit, while also bringing out the underlying emotion and sexiness.

Sony Pictures Releasing

8.The Age of Innocence (1993)

Would you believe me if I told you this adaptation of Edith Warton's novel was directed by Martin Scorsese? Well it is, and he co-wrote the adaptation, too. An all-star cast of Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Winona Ryder lead this drama about a lawyer in 1870s New York who falls for the married cousin of his fiancé, and the societal fallout that ensues.

Columbia Pictures

9.Carol (2015)

A love story between two women in the social constraints of 1950s America. One of the best romances of the last decade, with a stunning performance by Cate Blanchett.

StudioCanal

10.And Titanic (1997)

We don't really think of Titanic as a period film, more of as a blockbuster melodrama, but it is. And it's an epic. Not a lot of these period dramas are epic and this is obviously epic, and I wish we just had more epics.

Paramount Pictures
