Revolution Stage Company presents: 'Cabaret Riot'

Are you ready to watch cabaret artists perform their hearts out in an epic battle for their own show? Every week this month at Revolution Stage Company, local performers have taken the stage to deliver dynamic performances featuring music, comedy and storytelling. Palm Springs "celebrity" guest judges critiqued the acts, but the ultimate power was with the audience, who cast their votes to decide which artists advanced to the finals. The top performers from each Monday night have made it to this week's final competition, where the ultimate winner will be crowned — aka awarded their own Revolution Stage Company cabaret show.

ArtsWorks, Desert TheatreWorks’ specialized program for senior performers, is presenting two staged readings this fall. The first is "For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday," which follows Ann, one of five siblings sitting next to their father's hospital bed during his final moments. As Ann reminisces on the good times, like how her father brought her flowers when she played Peter Pan in her hometown theater in Iowa, a loving tale is spun about "a family’s view of death, life and the allure of never growing up," as the theater's description says. (Note: The company is also currently staging the show "The Wild Women of Winedale," which ends this Sunday. Tickets are still available.)
