10-year-old boy run over while 'surfing' on vehicle driven by his parents
A 10-year-old boy, who was “surfing” on top of a vehicle, is recovering in a children’s hospital in Los Angeles after he sustained injuries when he was run over by the operators of the car: his parents.

Police responded to a report of a child being hit by a vehicle on 4:08 p.m. Friday. According to the California City Police Department, the child was “surfing” on top of the car when he slipped and fell in front of the vehicle, resulting in his parents running him over.
23ABC reports that the boy suffered two broken shoulders, a broken pelvis and some fractured ribs following the accident. Doctors are still attempting to pinpoint where his internal bleeding is originating, and a friend of the family informed the outlet that the young boy would need surgery.
Police say that his injuries were major and he was listed in critical condition before his transfer to the Los Angeles children’s hospital. His parents expect his recovery to be a long process.
The incident is still under investigation, but the Sacramento Bee reports that no charges have been filed against the parents.
California City Police Department did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment.
