10-Year-Old McKenna Grace Hits the Red Carpet in a Chic Black Suit
Actress McKenna Grace is a 10-year-old girl with a sophisticated style resume.
Exhibit A: On Thursday, while attending the New York screening of her film, Gifted, also starring Chris Evans and Octavia Spencer, McKenna rocked a black suit decorated with flowers over a white collared shirt and black tie. In the film, which premieres on April 12, McKenna plays a 7-year-old math prodigy raised by her uncle.
“McKenna’s style can be best described as Jackie O in never-never land,” McKenna’s stylist, Enrique Melendez, tells Yahoo Style. “We play with adult styles and silhouettes but make them age-appropriate with Peter Pan collars, frilly socks, and glittery heels.”
McKenna’s outfit, a floral appliqué suit by Love Made Love, was a long-standing vision for Melendez, and fortunately, the actress agreed. “She was like, ‘I really want to wear a suit at some point,'” Melendez shares, “and I pulled it out, and it was instantaneously a hit.”
On April 4, McKenna, whose favorite color is “rainbow-purple-aquamarine and green” and “like, all colors that have sparkles on them,” appeared at the Los Angeles premiere of Gifted wearing a pink Gucci sequined shift dress with rose-gold J.Crew ballet slippers, courtesy of Melendez.
For the March 2 premiere of Beauty and the Beast at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles, the pint-sized star rocked a $530 black Dolce & Gabbana Kids rose-print dress over a long-sleeve white collared blouse. “When Celine Dion comments, ‘OMG, is that Dolce?!’ You know you have style!” Melendez wrote of the look on Instagram.
And in 2013, McKenna attended the Los Angeles Film Festival premiere of the film Goodbye World, in which she played a little girl living an off-the-grid lifestyle with her parents, wearing a baby-pink ballet-inspired dress adorned with pastel flowers.
And McKenna’s style evolution has just begun!
