The 12 Best Celebrity Manicures of the 2024 Awards Season—From Margot Robbie to Victoria Monét
The 2024 awards season has officially ended. January kicked things off with the Golden Globes, Critic's Choice Awards, and Emmys. February brought us the SAG Awards and Grammys, while March rounded things out with the Oscars. Every year, when award season rolls around, we're always excited about one thing: the beauty looks our favorite celebs debut on the red carpet.
While their hair and makeup are rightfully the main attraction, we're always eager to see the manicures they choose to accompany their look. And there was certainly a wealth of stunning manicures to gaze at this season. From Anya Taylor Joy's silver velvet nails to Kourtney Kardashian's baby French mani, this year's top nail looks ran the gamut. Ahead, we're sharing our 12 favorite celebrity manicures of the 2024 award season.
Reverse French Nails
Arianna Greenblatt opted for an edgy reverse silver French manicure for the Critic's Choice Awards. OPI Ambassador Zola Ganzorigt used two nude OPI Gel Nail Polishes ($18) in the shades Pale to the Chief and Bare My Soul. Then, she created the accent line with I Cancer-tainly Shine, a holographic silver, and rubbed the brand's Chrome Powder in Tin Man Can onto the nails for an extra pop.
Velvet Silver Nails
Anya Taylor Joy's jaw-dropping silver gown deserves equally gorgeous nails. Celebrity manicurist Kim Troung gave the actress' medium-length silver manicure a unique velvety finish. To achieve a similar look, you'll want to use a magnetic polish like Cirque Colors Metallic Nail Polish ($14) in Chemistry.
Blinged-Out Lipstick Nails
Chloe Bailey's gem-encrusted, lipstick-shaped nails are beyond cool. Her manicure of choice for the Grammy Awards features chunky gold glitter, gorgeous jewels, and precise shaping. It's the epitome of a red carpet-worthy nail look.
Sheer Pink Nails
Sticking with an all-pink theme for the Oscars, America Ferrera paired pink lip gloss nails with a gorgeous pink gown. "Since the accessories, jewelry, shoes, and outfit were all pink, America and her stylist wanted to keep the manicure very neutral to allow the metallic pink Versace gown to shine," celebrity manicurist Diem Truong says.
First, Truong prepped, filed and buffed Ferrera's natural nails before applying Kiss Nail Extensions ($10) in Gloria (a soft pink, almond-shaped nail) using the new at-home Kiss Salon Xtend Led Soft Gel System ($23).
Bronzy French Nails
Celebrity manicurist Temeka Jackson upgraded the traditional French manicure by adding golden tips—giving Jennifer Coolidge a sophisticated yet unexpected Emmy's nail look. After applying a neutral gel base coat, Jackson layered on two thin coats of OPI Gel Polish in Bare My Soul, a nude color, followed by a layer of a gel matte topcoat. Then, Jackson painted Coolidge's medium-length almond-shaped tips with a shimmery copper nail polish and topped it with bronze chrome powder. To complete the look, she applied OPI's Chrome Effects No-Cleanse Top Coat ($18) on the tips of each nail.
Baby French Nails
Channeling her inner rock star goddess, Kourtney Kardashian went with a black baby French manicure for the Emmys. The nail look is fun yet still totally in style with Kardashian's gothic aesthetic. Troung used The Gel Bottle Inc.'s Rubber Base Coat ($21) and then coated her nails with the brand's Gel Nail Polish ($19) in Marshmallow ($19). For the precise black French tips, Truong used the shade Jet Black ($19) and sealed the manicure with the Extreme Shine Top Coat ($19).
Coquette Pearl Nails
Coquette manicures have been trending for some time, and Lana Del Rey's take on the whimsical nail look at the Grammys did not disappoint. Celebrity manicurist Yoko Sakakura decked out the musician's nails, each with a different nail accessory. From the strips of micro pearls to the iridescent 3D bows, this nail look is a work of art.
Red Crackle Nails
Celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu calls Laverne Cox's Grammy nails a stunning red foil French tip look. Inspired by Laverne's red Comme de Gar?ons archive dress, Ishizu outfitted Cox's nails with a creative pattern to match the avant-garde aesthetic of the gown.
After applying Aprés Nail Neutrals Gel-X Emma Tips ($15) to Cox's nails, Ishizu applied the Base Coat X ($13) over the tips and cured them with an LED lamp. Next, she pressed pieces of red foil in random patterns onto the nail tips to create a French manicure look, swiped on the Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat ($13), and cured the nails again under an LED lamp. The look is equal parts unexpected and edgy, thanks to the crackle-like finish on the nails.
Jelly Pink Nails
Margot Robbie took the Barbie vibes to the SAG Awards with her short pink nails (inspired by original Barbie jelly shoes). Her go-to celebrity manicurist, Betina Goldstein, created the sheer jelly manicure by mixing Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color ($32) in Skieuse, Diva, and SunDrop. Goldstein gave the nails a jelly-like, translucent appearance by adding the Chanel Le Gel Top Coat ($32) on top.
Black Cherry Nails
For her Emmy nail look, Selena Gomez opted for a meticulous dark manicure created by her go-to celebrity nail artist, Tom Bachik. He first prepped and groomed her nails with the Tweezerman Rose Gold Manicure Set ($24) and then used the smooth side of the nail file from the Tweezerman & Tom Bachik Nail Care Travel Set ($29) to create a strong, natural oval shape.
Then, Bachik painted Gomez's nails with a custom black cherry nail polish consisting of PLA's Black Gel Liner ($10) and Gel Polish ($13) in You Can't Tell Anyone. The finishing touch? A bit of red chrome powder.
Classic French Nails
A classic French manicure always stands the test of time, and Ali Wong's pristine nails at the Emmys prove it. Celebrity manicurist Thuy Nguyen used Aprés Nail Color ($15) in Cloud Nine to create the actress' short French mani.
Sparkly Brown Nails
Celebrity nail artist Coca Michelle gave artist Victoria Monet a gorgeous dark brown glittery manicure for the Grammys. To replicate this dark brown set, use OPI Nail Lacquer ($12) in Brown to Earth and Glitterally Shimmer. Then, apply an iridescent chrome powder for added dimension and seal it with a shiny topcoat.
