"13 Reasons Why" Star Christian Navarro Could Star as Prince Eric in "The Little Mermaid" Live-Action Movie

• 13 Reasons Why star Christian Navarro has revealed he's auditioning for Prince Eric in the live-action The Little Mermaid film.

• Harry Styles was the previous frontrunner for the role, before he turned it down.

• Halle Bailey has already been cast as Ariel in the film.

13 Reasons Why fans might be seeing a familiar face on the big screen when they head in to watch the live-action The Little Mermaid film.

Christian Navarro, who plays Tony in the hit Netflix series, just threw his hat in the ring for the role of Prince Eric. Fans have been campaigning for him ever since he tweeted out that he was interested in the role and hoped to be able to play a Latino prince in a Disney film.

"So I heard Harry Styles passed on Prince Eric, well...I can sing. Black Ariel/Latino Prince...no ones called but Season 3 drops next week and I think it’s one hell of an audition."

Not only did he tag Disney, but also tagged his Can You Ever Forgive Me? co-star Melissa McCarthy, who is already cast in the film as Ursula.

While some might think that a simple tweet would not work, it looks Disney is interested as Christian revealed that he received a call from the film's team and he's already sent in his audition tape.

"Idk what happened to the other tweet. But! @disney saw this, saw your support, and gave my team a call. They wanted to see what I could do. Tapes sent. Fingers crossed. Let’s make some history. #iloveyou3000 #PrinceEric #TheLittleMermaid"

Fans have been hoping to get a glimpse of his singing skills, since he hasn't actually done any singing on 13 Reasons Why and it looks like he might actually sing a little tune if fans rally hard enough.

The tweet is almost at 2 thousand likes, so it might take a while to get there, but hopefully we'll get a fun little clip soon enough!
