Once you started watching season one of 13 Reasons Why, you found it nearly impossible to stop. But that doesn't mean that it was an easy show to watch. The Netflix original series received some backlash last year for its intense portrayal of things like rape and suicide. Even producer Selena Gomez stepped in to stand by the show's more serious scenes. "I mean I believed in the project for so long and I understood what the message was,"she told E! in an interview. "I just wanted it to come across in a way that kids would be frightened, but confused - in a way that they would talk about it because it's something that's happening all the time. So, I'm overwhelmed that's it's doing as well as it's doing."

And season 2 is teed up to be just as intense, tackling topics like drug abuse, healing after sexual assault, rape, slut shaming, and the lasting effect of suicide on a community.

And while the showrunners and cast members support the show's message, that doesn't mean that they don't also worry about how the content will affect fans. Case in point: Dylan Minnette.

The actor (who plays Liberty High student Clay Jensen) took to Twitter early on Friday morning (the day that season 2 dropped) to warn fans about the intensity to come.

The star wrote: "Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why, like season 1, can be unflinching, dark and even hard to watch at times. please view with caution, or with loved ones. if you or anyone you know would like resources after watching, please go to https://13reasonswhy.info . thank you."

He continued: "and finally, 13 Reasons Why season 2 is now streaming on @netflix everywhere. brace yourselves, pace yourselves (or not), and watch out for spoilers ‘round these parts before you finish. enjoy."
