Best Gifts for Foodies and Cooks
Cashew Coconut Brittle from Hillards, from $9.50
Almost every chocolatier and gourmet store carries some version of peppermint bark or almond brittle around the holidays but how many carry coconut cashew brittle? Hilliards Chocolates offers the traditional barks and brittles but they also offer craft gourmet barks and brittles like the coconut cashew bark and a craft beer brittle. Cashew Coconut Brittle from Hillards, from $9.50
William Dean Chocolates, from $6.50
I love the word “chocolatier." Who wouldn’t want to be a chocolatier (or a cheesemonger, for that matter)? William Dean Chocolates, a Florida-based company, takes chocolate to the next level. Order an assortment of their handmade chocolates and be prepared to have several of your senses stunned. The chocolates are not only tasty (some quite unique in flavor), but they are also visually stunning. Perhaps this is where the term “eye candy” originated! William Dean Chocolates, from $6.50
Hexclad Cookware, from $49 at Hexclad
I decided to give a Hexclad frying pan I received with the ultimate test of endurance: cooking Korean BBQ. I always feel like I need to throw a pan away after I’ve cooked Korean BBQ because the sticky, sugary marinade pretty much destroys the pan it’s cooked in. (And most times it's so difficult to clean, it’s not worth the effort.) I was pleasantly surprised when not only did the meat itself not stick to the surface of the Hexclad pan, but it was also super easy to clean! No scrubbing was involved, just a little soap and water and the mess just rinsed away! Once my other pans finally go to pan heaven, I’ll be looking to Hexclad for their replacements! Hexclad Cookware, from $49 at Hexclad

I’ve always wanted a cast iron pan. Why? They have a great new grill pan made of heirloom quality cast iron that has an oversized grilling surface to cook multiple steaks and a side of veggies to boot! FINEX Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron 10 Inch Grill Pan with Ergonomic Spring Handles, $131.80
