Stunning Photos of Last Night’s Super Pink Moon—the Biggest and Brightest of the Year
1 of 16
On April 7, the biggest and brightest full moon of the year lit up the night sky—and it did not disappoint. The Super Pink Moon is considered a “supermoon” due to its close proximity to earth and, despite its range in hue, “Pink Moon” actually has nothing to do with its color. Per the Farmer’s Almanac, the first full of moon spring got its name from the early spring bloom of phlox subulata, a.k.a. moss pink, a wildflower native to eastern North America. The entire world enjoyed the show—from the United States to Germany to Poland—and captured some stunning photos of the moment.
