Though I love making salads from scratch, I don’t always have time to chop veggies and mix up dressings.

So, I often rely on bagged salads for a quick vegetable dish to add to a meal, and I was delighted to discover a new flavor of Caesar salad at ALDI: Fresh Express Twisted Caesar Creamy Truffle Caesar chopped salad kit.

My family is a big fan of the Twisted Caesar Pesto Caesar salad kit, so when a new flavor made its debut on the refrigerated shelves at ALDI, we had to try it. Unsurprisingly, we all loved it. In fact, ever since we first tried it at the beginning of summer, we’ve been eating it once or twice a week.

What I Love About Twisted Caesar Creamy Truffle Caesar Salad Kits

These salad kits include chopped romaine lettuce, a creamy truffle Caesar dressing, grated Parmesan, and garlic brioche croutons. If you like umami, you’ll love this salad kit.

When you open the truffle dressing package, you get a big whiff of truffle aroma, which melds beautifully with the garlic and black pepper flavors. It also brings out the savory flavors in the shredded Parm. Oh, it’s just so, so good.

A 9.3-ounce bag of salad costs $2.99 and contains two and a half servings—enough for side salads for our family of three. If you really love salad like my family does, you'll want to pick up two bags.

How I Serve the Twisted Caesar Creamy Truffle Caesar Salad

My son and I will sometimes split a bag of salad for lunch, and I’ll add chicken or whatever leftover protein we have on hand. My son can eat an entire bag by himself (hence the two bags for one dinner).

Sometimes, I add cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, or avocado. Mushrooms taste especially good when tossed into this salad, as they pair perfectly with the truffle dressing. Though I haven’t tried it yet, I think grilled portobello mushrooms would be absolutely stellar mixed into this salad and even better mixed with some sliced grilled steak.

This salad kit makes a perfect base for Caesar wraps or other sandwiches, and my son once added a bit of the mixed greens and dressing to some tacos instead of using iceberg lettuce.

Frankly, this salad doesn’t need anything else. It’s just fantastic by itself. I know we’re going to keep eating it all summer long, and beyond.
