20 Popular Fashion Trends Ranked From "I Desperately Want This To Go Away" To "This Needs To Stay"
Many 2000s fashion trends are slowly but surely coming back and mixed with newer trends, there are tons of styles that are all the rage right now. I don't typically pay much attention to fashion but when I do, I love focusing on what's trending and how people are styling old trends.

Clearly, that means that I am by no means a fashion expert. I just know which trends I thoroughly enjoy and which ones I wouldn't mind we all forget about.
Disclaimer: This also isn't an attempt by any means to tell you what to wear. If you love low-rise jeans, then, by all means, wear them. This is just me ranking fashion trends based on MY taste. To each their own!
So here are 20 fashion trends ranked by how much I wouldn't mind if they went away forever.
20.Low-rise jeans could disappear tomorrow and I wouldn't even notice because I have never (and would never) eagerly run to the mall to buy a pair of these jeans.
Low-rise jeans have always seemed to be one of those things that go in and out of style. While they aren't nearly as popular as they were in the early 2000s, they're definitely making a slow but sure comeback and I'm not here for it. They just look super uncomfortable and with one wrong twist, everything is spilling out.
19.Sneaker wedges make me physically cringe when I look at pictures of them.
I won't lie. I used to want several pairs of these when I was younger but at some point, I took a second to really look at them and see that they weren't nearly worth the hype they got. These aren't even "on trend" right now but I just had to bring them up. That's how bad they are.
18.For some reason, I hated seeing any variation of tiny sunglasses and they could see the exit right now!
Now hear me out! They just aren't as cute as everyone made them out to be. I'd also like to note that Rihanna could pull off ANYTHING and that fact is slightly making me want to change my stance since she looks so good, but I'll stick to my truth!!!
I just don't get the appeal! Please feel free to explain it to me in the comments but I probably still won't change my mind even then.
The bigger the frame, the better!!!
17.Micro bags have universally no space to store anything and are pretty useless, which is why I wouldn't care at all if they went away for good.
I just don't see the point in carrying something that only your pinkie nail could fit into. I'll say that I have seen some cute ones but where's the practicality? I love Lizzo and this look with my entire being but the bag adds nothing.

16.Faux leather leggings were pretty popular back in 2016 for reasons I can't understand and I firmly believe they should stay a thing of the past.
These specific ones are sadly the ones that are engraved in my mind. Faux leather leggings were a step up from those printed/galaxy leggings people used to wear years ago but they still aren't great. I do enjoy faux leather flare pants if you're looking for an alternative!
15.Zebra print jeans (or zebra print in general) were kind of cute at first, but they've definitely been overdone and I wouldn't care if they disappeared.
14.TBH, patchwork jeans were cute at first but they quickly lost their appeal. I wouldn't mind if everyone collectively left these in the past.
These aren't as bad as some of the ones I've seen all over social media but most patchwork jeans have raw seams and come off as too crowded.
If the seams weren't as messy, then maybe. But I guess it also just all depends on the pair you get.
The strings are just doing something to me and not in a good way. I don’t even necessarily HATE these; it’s just the superficial detail in the seams. Lmao.
13.Denim on denim. Double denim. Whatever you want to call it, it could go. This look was never my favorite and I wouldn't mind it fading out.
For some reason, I just don't like it. Maybe if the denim pieces are the same shade as each other, then it's a bit more tolerable.
12.Cowboy boots are slowly creeping their way back and I don't understand why. I wouldn't mind if this trend left as quickly as it came.
Again, I don't HATE the look of cowboy boots because as I look at some of them now, they're somewhat cute. I can't lie. But I think it's just what you pair them with. Cowboy boots and baggy pants are just a no from me.
If it makes the cowboy boot wearers feel any better, I do love the rising trend of cowboy hats! I definitely wouldn't mind cowboy hats replacing the boot trend. Thank you, Miss Megan Thee Stallion!!
11.Sweater vests remind me way too much of my old high school uniform and maybe that's why I don't get the hype of them.
10.Tie-dye is fun to make and looks cute. It's as simple as that. What's not to love?
I don't think I'll ever be ready to retire the tie-dye. Sorry ???♀?.
9.Doc Martens are such a staple shoe. I don't ever see them going out of style and if they did, I'd be super sad to see them go!
So many of my birthday wish lists would include Doc Martens in almost every color!
They just make anyone wearing them look so cool! These can never go out of style.

8.Air Force Ones are super popular and there's clearly a reason for that. They're cute, classic, and comfortable; you can't lose when wearing them!
They also go with anything and everything. They may be basic but at least they're convenient.
7.I'm currently really into bucket hats and would love to see them stay around for a long, long time!
Another trend that I was late to! Bucket hats have always been around and like many things, they seem to go in and out of fashion. I'm living for them being in style right now and believe they need to stay!
They come in many colors with tons of patterns and can be very stylish with little effort. There’s something for everyone!
6.Biker shorts are supercomfortable and easy to pair things with, which is why, no matter how much hate they get, I'll wear them forever!
They're just too comfortable for me to hate! The possibilities are endless!
They can work for casual events like walking your dog, grocery shopping, or even working from home.
My WFH fit always consists of a random top and biker shorts!
Or even on the red carpet!
Again, what's not to like?!
5.Crocs are definitely on the rise again and I couldn't be more excited that these comfy clogs are back! I would surely hate to see these go out of style (again).
I know this is shocking but I still think these clogs are comfortable and cute. Sue me. I'm relatively new to the Croc trend and they are definitely one of those things you wear once and can never go back to a time before you wore them. They're all I wear now and I'm not mad at them.
They're even personally responsible for bringing back the love of shoe charms and I love it! Bring on the Jibbitz!
4.Mom jeans have definitely made their way back into the "in crowd," and I'm glad because that's precisely where they belong!
I wasn't always the biggest fan of mom jeans because I usually prefer a tighter fit on my jeans but ever since quarantine started, I've gravitated more toward looser styles. Maybe it's because I've spent 90% of the last 18 months wearing sweats but I just no longer see the appeal of tight jeans and I'd much rather wear these!
3.Activewear/athleisure is not going anywhere anytime soon and I'm not mad about that.
It's comfortable. It's cute. What else is there to say.
2.Platform sneakers have been in and out of trend for a while but they definitely deserve to stay in trend!
Maybe it's just because I'm short and love a comfortable shoe that also gives me a boost in height but I love these. Specifically, Fila Disruptors! Call me basic, IDC. I just can't get enough of these!
And before people say, "Well didn't you just rank sneaker wedges super low?" yes, I did because sneaker wedges and platform sneakers are two veryyyyyy different things!
Sure, they both give me height but there should never be a heel/wedge on a sneaker. EVER!
1.And finally, number one on the list (as it should be) are high-waisted jeans. They're truly a gift from the heavens above and I think I'll actually cry if this trend ever fades out.
Not really, because even if they go out of style, I'm still going to wear them because they're just that good. They look great with nearly everything, they're comfortable, and they cater to more than just 1% of the population. What's not to love?!
