20 Years Later, M&M's Shows Us What Happens at the End of That Famous Christmas Commercial
Remember that classic M&M's Christmas commercial? The one where mascots Red and Yellow spot Santa delivering gifts and the shock of each other's existence leaves Red and the man in the red suit unconscious on the floor? Well, it left us with a lot of unanswered questions, such as: How long was Santa out for? Does Santa like red and green M&Ms? And, what do M&Ms wish for on Christmas, anyway?
Luckily, the candy company finally released a sequel 20 years after the original ad debuted called "Faint 2: A Very Yellow Sequel," and we finally have answers. You can watch the new commercial above, which continues where "Faint" left off as a typically clumsy Yellow decides to save Christmas by delivering presents while St. Nick is passed out. Although the presents arrive at the wrong home, he unwittingly gets the neighborhood into the true spirit of giving by having neighbors return the presents to their rightful owners.
"We want to bring everyone together with M&M'S once again this holiday season by highlighting the true meaning of Christmas for a new generation of fans," Michael Magee, VP Growth Acceleration, Mars, Inc. told People.
The heartwarming follow-up will debut on television during NBC's Christmas in Rockefeller Center at 8 p.m. Wednesday night. For now the new commercial (and the original, below) will live on YouTube.
