Celebrities join Emma Watson in #HeForShe movement
By CHELSEA HUANG
Emma Watson made waves on September 20 when she suggested that women and men around the world join a movement for gender equality.
The UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador, 24, launched a new campaign called "HeForShe" last week and naturally many of Watson's A-list pals have already responded to her cry for equality via Twitter.
Former "Dawson's Creek" star James Van Der Beek was just one of many stars to applaud Watson's efforts.
Guys, @EmWatson really got it right. Gender equality isn't about taking a side, it's about human dignity for all. It's evolution #HeForShe

At the campaign's inception, the "Harry Potter" actress made a moving speech about the need to treat men and women equally.
"To date, I've seen my father's role as a parent being valued less by society despite my needing his presence, as a child, as much as my mother's," she said in a speech at the United Nations. "I've seen young men suffering from mental illness, unable to ask for help, for fear it would make them less of a man."
"I want men to take up this mantle so their daughters, sisters and mothers can be free from prejudice but also so their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human, too and in doing so, be a more true and complete version of themselves," she said.
