2018 through your eyes: The spectacular winning images from the Telegraph Travel Calendar Competition
We recently asked you to send in your most breathtaking travel ?images to feature in our 2018 wall calendar – and you did not disappoint.
Faced with the unenviable task of selecting a final 12 images from over ?a thousand stellar submissions, our judges - Claire Irvin, Head of Travel Editorial, wildlife photographer Luke Massey, and Jeremy Jauncey, the social media influencer behind Beautiful Destinations – curated a round-the-world tour that starts in the icy Pacific waters of British Columbia and ends on more familiar (but no less frosty) turf at Scotland’s Loch Doon, with pit-stops at Namibia, Bhutan and Paris en route.
Alison Morris’s cinematic image of camel herders enveloped in a cloud of sand ?in Pushkar?, ?Rajasthan?, ?was our judges’ favourite. Aside from winning a Nikon D7500 – the perfect companion for the travelling shutterbug - Alison wins a ?seven?-night Skysafari trip to either Tanzania or Kenya provided courtesy of Elewana? (+255 784 250 630; skysafari.com).
Pioneers in luxury safari tours, SkySafari by Elewana offers a taste of the best safari experiences and most iconic National Parks in both Kenya and Tanzania coupled with luxury accommodation, gourmet dining, incredible game viewing and private aircraft transfers. SkySafari passengers enjoy business class seating, a fast-track airport experience, butler service at all of the properties, as well as only one check-in and check-out during the seven-night journey.
The remaining 11 pages will be illustrated with photographs taken by Adrian Hutchinson, Dan Hunter, Ian Yates, Mark Rutley, Michael Shanta, Peter Griffiths, Peter Malone, Priit Einbaum, Robert Scriven, Tim Bur and Walner Espinoza Bares, all of whom win a Nikon Key Mission 170 - a shock-proof, freeze-proof, water-proof camera engineered for the adventure photographer.
