A teenager's video of a karaoke session that took place at her high school has gone viral for the footage's overall absurdity.

On Monday, Autumn Brea, a student at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington, Ky., shared a TikTok video of fellow students engaging in a karaoke session — yes, you read that right — in a cafeteria.

"Too powerful," she wrote. "The high school musical vibes are immaculate."

In the short clip, a girl is seen enthusiastically singing Mario Winans' "Let Me Love You" as she walks down a flight of stairs. The camera then pans to a huge screen with the song's lyrics. A boy is later seen similarly enjoying himself while singing along to New Edition's "If It Isn't Love."

Brea's video immediately went viral — as of Thursday afternoon, it has been viewed over 870,000 times and received more than 1,500 comments.

"WHAT SCHOOL IS THIS I WANT TO GO," one person asked.

"High School Musical on a budget," another wrote.

In an interview with In The Know, Brea confirmed that her school regularly hosts karaoke sessions on Fridays, as long as the students clean up after themselves.

"If people are really bad at singing, the cafeteria usually actually cheers on that person instead of blatantly making fun of them, and based off of who is performing and what song is being sung, people react differently," she said.
