For all the beauty lovers who are also major Selena fans, I have great news: The new MAC x Selena La Reina collection is here!

Known as La Reina Del Tex Mex — the Queen of Tejano music — Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was not only a musical inspiration to the world, but a style and beauty icon as well. Wearing elaborate and boisterous outfits onstage while rocking a signature bold lip, Selena proved to countless men and women that you can proudly bask in your style and beauty identity.

The Mexican-American songstress also broke musical barriers, including being the first woman to achieve mainstream success in the world of Tejano music as well as the first Tejano artist to get a Gold Record and win a Grammy Award.

To carry on the spirit of her legacy, MAC Cosmetics partnered with Selena’s family on a second collaboration and was inspired by “Selena’s unique music style, distinctive global influence, and undeniable beauty,” according to a press release.

The entire collection is quite extensive: Altogether, there’s four lipsticks, three lip glosses, two lip pencils, three matte liquid lip colors, an extra dimension skin finish, and an eight-shadow palette and makeup bag.

The eyeshadow palette is richly pigmented with a variety of color offerings for multiple skin tones, as well as the lipsticks and glosses. According to Gisel Calvillo, senior national artist for MAC, the entire collection was built around versatility. “The colors in the eye palette range from warm nudes that compliment every skin tone, to some rich toned earthy browns,” Calvillo said in a press release.

Selena was always known for a standout lip — this collection served up some serious sizzle. “For lips, we have included an assortment of nudes, rose-toned and red shades that give the perfect pout,” said Calvillo. “The textures run from both matte to shimmery metallic shades to play up your look from day to night.”
