2023 Oscars: Lady Gaga's Red Carpet Look Is No Joke

The 'Joker: Folie à Deux' actress stunned on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony.

Lady Gaga was "Born This Way."

On March 12, the singer, 36, showed up to the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, Calif. for the 2023 Oscars red carpet looking as stunning as ever, despite rumors that she wouldn't be able to attend.

Gaga rocked a sheer, drop-waist gown from Versace that included mesh along her bodice and down the sleeves. The gown incorporated a sweeping all-black skirt that puffed out at the bottom and included Versace's signature Medusa medallion at the waist, matching the large choker that added some sparkle to her look.

The singer shined with a bold makeup look that included a bright red lip that added a pop of color to her entire look for the Academy Awards. She also rocked a stunning glamorous eye makeup look that incorporated daring black eyeliner and wore her hair in an updo.

It was announced earlier on March 12 that Gaga would be performing at this year's ceremony, even though it was previously reported that she was busy due to scheduling conflicts while filming Joker: Folie à Deux.

According to Variety, sources shared that Gaga would make a surprise appearance at the award show to perform the song "Hold My Hand," which she sang and co-wrote with producer BloodPop for the Oscar-nominated film Top Gun: Maverick.

Now with Gaga in the lineup of performers, the 2023 Oscars will feature performances of all of the nominated songs.

Rihanna is set to perform "Lift Me Up" from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Sofia Carson and Diane Warren will sing "Applause" from Tell It Like a Woman, Stephanie Hsu, David Byrne, and Son Lux will perform "This Is a Life" from Everything Everywhere All At Once, and Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava will sing “Naatu Naatu” from RRR.
