2024 New Mexico State Fair discount days and Main Street displays

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –  The 2024 New Mexico State Fair runs from September 5 – 15. Each year the state fair brings unique exhibits, events, and entertainment for guests to enjoy. One thing fairgoers can take advantage of is the variety of discount days and Main Street activities at the New Mexico State Fair.

How can you get to the New Mexico State Fair?

Thursday, September 5

  • Opening Day/Law Enforcement Appreciation Day/Graze Day

    • $2 admission per person with $2 per ride ticket. $30 ride wristbands. All vendors offer one regular menu item for $5 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. All New Mexico law enforcement officers get free admission with valid ID.

    • Main Street: People can check out police BAT Mobile and meet law enforcement officers. Fairgoers can learn about New Mexico’s law enforcement agencies and meet some of the hundreds of officers in attendance.

Friday, September 6

  • Firefighters and Smokey Bear Day

    • All firefighters get free admission with valid ID or uniforms.

    • Main Street: Fire engines will line the street, including vintage fire trucks, pumpers, and emergency response vehicles. Meet firefighters and get an up-close look at their trucks and equipment. Multi-Cultural Drug and Alcohol relay run to raise awareness for the impact drugs and alcohol can have on communities.

Saturday, September 7

  • Teacher Appreciation Day/Firefighter and First Responders Day

    • All teachers get free admission when they present a district-issued ID or pay stub. Firefighters and first responders get free admission with a valid ID

    • Main Street: MOPAR’s Classic VW’s and Classic Jaguars Car Show. Main Street will be full of classic cars for guests to check out and enjoy.

Sunday, September 8

  • Teacher Appreciation Day

    • All teachers get free admission when they present district issued ID or pay stub.

    • Main Street: Antique Cars and Classic Tractor Show. American classic cars and vintage tractors will be on display for guests to view.

Monday, September 9

  • Healthy Living and Senior Day

    • Main Street: Booths and vendors geared toward senior citizens and healthy living will be featured on Main Street. Fair goers will be able to visit and get information on health and discounts for different health services. There will also be free flu shots and health screenings available.

Tuesday, September 10

  • Military and Veterans Day

    • Free admission for all active and retired military and veterans with valid ID. $5 admission and $30 ride wristbands for general fair attendees.

    • Main Street: There will be a tribute to military personnel and veterans with a special ceremony at 11 a.m. at the NMSF pavilion stage.

Wednesday, September 11

  • Dollar Day/Pathway to College and Career Day

    • $1 admission all day. Rides are $1 per ride, with a minimum of ten rides required.

    • Main Street: Multiple trade schools and higher education institutions from New Mexico and surrounding states will be on-site to provide information for prospective students, parents and teachers with information.

Thursday, September 12

  • Everyone is a Kid Today/ Gathering of Counties and NM True Day/Graze Day

    • $8 admission all day. $30 ride wristbands. All food vendors offer one regular menu item for $5 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

    • Main Street: A celebration of New Mexico and everything unique about it. Guests can get information about places all over the state and plan their next trip.

Friday, September 13

  • City and County Employee Appreciation Day/ Science, Technology and Environment Appreciation Day

    • $10 admission for anyone employed by a New Mexico city, county or government with county or city-issued employment ID. $40 ride wristbands.

    • Main Street: All things STEM-related will be featured. Guests can experience a 3D puzzles, a Van de Graaff generator, steam engine, radiation sources, robotics, and more.

Saturday, September 14

  • Hot Rods and Custom Cars Show

    • $10 admission for county/city employees

    • Main Street: All types of custom cars from hot rods, low riders, trucks, classic cars, airstreams and more will be on display throughout Main Street.

Sunday, September 15

  • Classic Cars, Trucks and Corvairs Show

    • $10 admission for county/city employees

    • Main Street: Classic cars including Chevy’s Oldsmobile’s, Mustangs, Corvairs and more classic trucks and cars will be lining Main Street for guests to check out.
