20x200 Release Prints of Your Favorite Book Covers
Listen, of course you buy them for the addictive plots and the brilliant prose and the expressive stories, but the truth is, we all know some of the best books serve a second purpose; stacked on shelves or laid out on coffee tables, they just make us look good. There's the expression, "Don't judge a book by its cover," and then there's the cover of Brit Bennett's The Mothers: so exquisite it demands evaluation.
20x200 knows it. The online print studio has collaborated with Riverhead Books to produce a new collection of limited-edition prints based on three of its most acclaimed recent novels: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer, and Bennett's The Mothers. And here's a fun fact for the home tour you'll give once you own one: All three authors and all three cover designers are women.
We reached Wolitzer, whose next novel is due out in 2018, to find out how it feels to be immortalized in print, twice over. "When I saw the beautiful, startling cover of The Interestings for the first time, I loved it and couldn't stop looking at it," she says. "So it’s a particular thrill to me that it has now made its way from bookshelf to frame. I’m sure I’ll want to keep looking at it all the time in this version too."
You heard the woman. Buy it for the reader in your world, or at least the one who Instagrams books the most.
