Where do Aldi products come from?
With their extremely low prices on everyday items, anyone who has wandered the Aldi aisles has asked themself, "Where do they get their products for so cheap?"
Most of Aldi's inventory is sourced in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Thailand, China and a few other countries around the globe. If you ever want to know where an item is made, you can find it right on the packaging.

How does Aldi keep their prices so low?
The difference in pricing at Aldi compared to other major grocery store chains can be anywhere from a few cents to several dollars. So, how do they continue to keep prices so low year after year? With a few philosophies, they take great pride in.
First off, 90 percent of the products in an Aldi store are exclusive brands. Carrying these, instead of name-brand ones, allows them to offer the same high-quality products without passing all of the hidden costs into the customer. One reason national brands are always more expensive, at any store, is due to the marketing and advertising they require.
Aldi also tries to buy their meat from regional farms. Buying local equals less money spent on transportation and therefore, a lower cost to the consumer.
Finally, two unique things about shopping at Aldi you might find strange the first time you go: paying a quarter to use a shopping cart, and paying for (or bringing your own) shopping bags.
Both of these are ways Aldi saves their customers money because they don't need extra staff to collect carts, or waste money on plastic bags. You are welcome to use your own reusable bags, buy plastic or paper ones at the checkout, or even use empty boxes off the shelves.

What day are markdowns best at Aldi?
While Aldi doesn't do markdowns in the same way other stores do, the best day of the week to find the absolute best deals is definitely Wednesday.
Each Wednesday is when the new sale ad begins, so those items tend to go fast. (Pro Tip: If you see chicken on sale for $.99/pound, RUN to Aldi because I've seen it sell out by noon on Wednesday!)
Also on Wednesdays is when Aldi releases their new "Special Buys" every week. These are items that can be seasonal, specialty or just new to the store. Each week they have about 40-50 new products to showcase.
Here is another great insider secret: every year around Thanksgiving and Easter, you'll want to keep an eye out for the amazing deals they have on frozen turkeys and spiral-cut hams! I've been known to get both for under one dollar per pound.
