If you’ve heard of ferulic acid, perhaps you’ve heard “vitamin C” mentioned in the same breath.  The ingredient “is often used in serums and creams due to its potential to enhance the stability and effectiveness off other antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E," Marisa and Adriana Martino, licensed estheticians and co-founders of SKINNEY Medspa, previously told InStyle

Both ingredients are antioxidant-rich; plus, they work notably well together to protect skin from environmental agers, bolster luminosity, and deliver a generally glowier, more youthful-looking complexion.

Perhaps this is why the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum has ascended to legendary status in the skincare world. I adore it — but it’s in the triple-digit price range, which can prove difficult to justify when you go through it as quickly as I do. Ergo, I’ve been on the hunt for a similarly skin-brightening, tone-evening product in a more affordable price range. Recently, I stumbled upon an under-$30 option at Amazon: L'Oréal’s Bright Reveal Serum. The formula features many of the same active ingredients as much pricier picks — and, per shoppers, works wonderfully to fade dark spots and improve radiance.

The L'Oréal Bright Reveal Serum is a lightweight solution for fading hyperpigmentation, mitigating dullness, and addressing general complexion unevenness. Brimming with dermatologist-approved ingredients, the formula is potent and effective, and promises visibly more radiant skin within weeks, per the brand.

In addition to vitamins, C, E, and ferulic acid, the formula contains yet another buzzy brightener: Niacinamide. The soothing form of vitamin B is, in addition to tolerated by most skin types, an excellent antiager. As dermatologist Dr. Hadley King, M.D., previously told InStyle, it’s been shown to help improve signs of aging, including uneven tone, by brightening dark spots.

One shopper dubs the serum a “miracle” for fading dark spots, adding that it works quickly and delivers on its claims. Another reviewer says they’ve seen results on their dark marks and blemishes within five days, calling it a “game-changer.”

For a more even-toned complexion, enhanced radiance, and a generally brighter, healthier-looking complexion, shop the L'Oréal Bright Reveal Serum for $25 at Amazon for a limited time.
