5 Controversial Quotes About Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif That Only Kareena Kapoor Khan Could Get Away With

Only Kareena Kapoor Khan can say things that she does and go unscathed. The actress' these comments about Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone would have cost any other actress their career, but not Bebo...

Kareena Kapoor Khan is a quintessential diva. The actress always manages to make headlines; be it with her fashion choices or then her fierce statements. Bebo knows how to be a star IRL. So when you watch the actress in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, it’s actually Kareena being herself. And not we’re not just talking about her vanity here; remember how Poo from K3G was known to shade people? Well, Kareena has expertise in real life too and has ruthlessly trolled her competition in the past. But we all love Bebo for being so different and politically incorrect. In an interview when the actress was asked to describe herself in three words she quipped in true KK style, “Khoobsurat, khoobsurat, khoobsurat”. There’s not much to debate there. But we wonder what happened when the Takht actress made these controversial statements in the past...

Salman Khan is a bad actor

We are not making this up. Kareena did make this statement. The actress in an earlier interview had said, “I'm not at all a Salman fan. I don't like him; he's a very bad actor. I tell him that he hams all the time.” Well, Bebo could manage to say this because the Dabangg hero has literally seen her growing up before acting opposite her in movies.

But looks like Kareena’s opinion of Salman’s once arch rival was exactly opposite, “I'm totally in love with him (Shah Rukh Khan). Don't even ask me about him (SRK) because if I start I won't stop talking about him for hours. Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh are the only two actors I admire. There is something about Shah Rukh that is amazing. He has that very boy next door appeal which makes every girl want to take him home to her parents. His performances touch me.”

Katrina is a “different sort of actress”

Well, blame it on Katrina Kaif’s comment where she referred to Kareena as a “senior”. Because the Veere Di Wedding actress’ reaction must have definitely left Kat red faced. Kareena had said, “I am not exactly following her filmography in detail so I don't remember when she made her debut. In terms of acting, my body of work is a lot more so if I look at it like that then I am sure she would not have meant it in any other way but this. There can never be any sort of a competition between us two as we are two different sorts of actresses.”

Of course the two ladies warmed up to each other when Ranbir Kapoor was dating Chikni Chameli. Kareena was even ready to dance to Katrina’s hit songs at Ranbir-Kat’s supposed wedding then. The couple however split soon after and there was no dance of course.

Can’t relate to Deepika

Kareena Kapoor was once miffed with Deepika Padukone because Ranbir Kapoor’s ex-girlfriend was also linked to Saif Ali Khan. During Love Aaj Kal grapevine suggested that Deepika and Saif had gotten too close for comfort. No wonder Kareena’s animosity towards Deepika’s goes beyond professional space. When Bebo was asked what she’d do if she woke up as Deepika Padukone, her candid answer was, “I dont think I can wake up as Deepika as I can't relate to her.”

And it did not end at that, Kareena also commented on Vidya Balan who was linked to her ex-love Shahid Kapoor post their split. “I'd feel Dirty!” Kareena has said when asked what she’d feel like if she woke up as Vidya.

Mediocre Ameesha Patel

For those of you who do not know, before Ameesha debuted opposite Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Kareena was roped in for the part. While Kareena started her career with Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan, she didn’t taste much success at the box office. But the Kapoor gal continued to be the sassy star that she’s even today. In one of her interviews Kareena was asked about her back-to-back flops and she decided to take a jibe at Ameesha who was faring better than her. Kareena said, “Okay, so I have given only flops. But why am I still being paid more than Ameesha? I have the talent. I'm confident. And I know I'll be remembered always. I don't want Ameesha Patel's history hits. I don't want to be mediocre in hit films. I'd rather be brilliant in flop movies.”

That’s not all; looks like Kareena couldn’t stand Ameesha because she refused to be a part of a tour because the latter was roped in. When Kareena was confronted about this episode in an interview she had nonchalantly said, “If she (Ameesha) was a bigger star than me, I would have been replaced. So I rest my case.”

Will never work with confused Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Kareena auditioned for Bhansali’s Devdas that went on to feature Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit Nene. But did you know that Kareena was to play Paro in the movie? Apparently, when SLB cast Aishwarya in her place Kareena lost her cool and had made this statement, “Sanjay Bhansali is a confused director. He is a person who does not stand by his word. He doesn't have any morals and principles in life. Tomorrow, even if he is the next Raj Kapoor or Guru Dutt, and my films don't do well and if I'm a flop actress, I will still not ever work with him.”

And when Kareena turned down films that went on to become blockbusters and make careers of heroines who had come after her, Bebo in her inimitable style had said, “I feel honoured and glad to give work to other people. I hope they (actresses) become stars as I have rejected big films.”

Why say that Kangana is the only controversial actress in Bollywood. We bet Kareena could prove to be some tough competition to anyone in the sass department.
