Talking About His Mistakes in Past Relationships
Justin opened up about his biggest problems in his past relationships and even said that he's made some mistakes over the years. The two of them always had a rocky relationship and it's likely he's talking about Selena and why they broke up.
"One of the big things for me is trusting myself. I’ve made some bad decisions personally, and in relationships. Those mistakes have affected my confidence in my judgment."
While we don't know what those bad decisions could've been, it's likely he's talking about Selena and why they broke up.
Reasons Why He Took a Step Back From Music
While he has been pretty open about his recent hiatus from music, it seems like one of the reasons he retreated from his work in the past was due to his relationships.
"I just needed some time to evaluate myself: who I am, what I want out of my life, my relationships, who I want to be-stuff that when you’re so immersed in the music business you kind of lose sight of."
While there's no specific time set for this, it's likely this happened right after his Purpose tour in July 2017, and around the time he was with Selena a couple of months later.
He Was Likely Celibate When He Was With Selena
While revealing that he had a problem with sex, he also talked about being celibate for over a year before he met up with Hailey.
"When the couple reconnected last June, Justin was more than a year into a self-imposed tenure of celibacy."
If this is true, this means that he was also celibate during the couple of months that he was with Selena.
He Might Have Been Using Xanax While He Was With Selena
Justin revealed that he previously used Xanax as a way to cope with everything in his life.
"I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed. My mom always said to treat women with respect. For me that was always in my head while I was doing it, so I could never enjoy it."
This happened back in 2013 and 2014, right after they had their big break up. The two of them also met up a couple of times between then, but it never stuck.
Realizing that Selena Wasn't The One
Justin and Hailey got together right after his relationship with Selena and it seems like it didn't take long for Justin to realize that Selena wasn't the one.
"When I saw her last June, I just forgot how much I loved her and how much I missed her and how much of a positive impact she made on my life. I was like, Holy cow, this is what I’ve been looking for."
