Cowboy-Inspired Western Boots
If street-style shots and store offerings are any indication, fall fashion is taking a cue from the Wild Wild West. That’s right, Western boots are trending. Tuck jeans into a high pair or create a fun contrast by pairing shorter, cowboy-inspired boots with a girly floral dress. Giddyup.
Cinnamon Roll-Flavored Things
Pumpkin spice has reigned supreme since as long as your basic heart can remember. But this fall is the season of cinnamon roll. That is, cinnamon roll-flavored foods, from Ben and Jerry’s new vegan Cinnamon Buns pint and Cheesecake Factory’s new Cinnabon Cinnamon Swirl Cheesecake to Sam’s Club’s giant cinnamon roll cake. Essentially, it’s all the deliciousness of pumpkin spice without the worry of looking like a sorority girl.
Clean Beauty
You’re all about healthy eating and reducing your exposure to toxins at home, but what about the cleanliness of your makeup bag? “Clean beauty” basically means using non-toxic ingredients (think: ingredients you can actually pronounce and recognize). Devotees have been hip to the trend for years, but it’s seriously been picking up steam lately, thanks to Sephora’s new Clean Beauty section.
Intermittent Fasting
Over the last few months, you probably haven’t been able to go to a brunch, boxing class or happy hour without someone bringing up intermittent fasting. Is it healthy? Is it safe? Does it work? The practice of fasting has been around for ages, but the idea of using it as a means to lose weight and achieve better overall health has reached peak popularity in the last year, and shows no signs of slowing down. Read more about what it entails—and if it actually does anything for your body—here.
Chloe x Halle
What were you doing at 18 years old? What about 20 years old? If you're R&B-singing sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey, you're opening for Beyoncé and Jay-Z during their OTR II tour. (No biggie.) The Atlanta natives have been on the scene for a few years, but we have a feeling they're on the verge of a huge break. Don't sleep on these songbird sisters. (But do download "Warrior" immediately.)
