At 55, Brooke Shields Just Showed Off Her Sculpted Legs in a Gorgeous Swimsuit Photo
Brooke Shields shared a new black-and-white swimsuit photo to Instagram.
The model has a new love for fitness, and has been keeping up with at-home workouts.
Shields says she “feels physically better than ever” in her 50s.
At 55, Brooke Shields is embracing her body with a newfound love for fitness—and she isn’t afraid to show it! On Wednesday, the model shared a gorgeous black-and-white swimsuit snap from a photoshoot.
Shields gave a sweet shoutout to her friend, Danish supermodel Helene Christensen, who snapped the pic. “A great friend and a dream collaborator. Thank you for believing in my vision and helping bring it to life,” she wrote in the caption.
Just last week, Shields shared an entirely different swimsuit photo, which featured a bright yellow one-piece on the beach. The model posed, let her hair flow freely, and truly looks like she’s soaking up every last bit of sunshine.
“Working on something special with my friend @helenachristensen. You are incredible. Stay tuned—exciting things to share soon,” she wrote. (Now we really want to know what these two are cooking up together!)
If you’re wondering how Shields has been maintaining her fitness, look no further than her Instagram. After undergoing a partial knee replacement, she committed herself to exercise and did not look back. “By watching myself get through that and coming out so much stronger, I realized what I’m really capable of,” she told InStyle.
“Now I’m thankful that I’m even capable of working out. I have a trainer who says if you’re stuck at home, you have to get creative,” she continued. “You can do biceps with cans of tomatoes. I have these elastic bands, and if you spend 10 minutes doing squats or side steps with those, you’re sweating! And I try to help my friends with it. They’re calling me, going, ‘Can we work out together?’ And I’m like, ‘Sure, let’s do a Zoom call!’ The camaraderie is so encouraging and inspiring.”
Specifically, every Wednesday since the spring, Shields has been doing live at-home workouts with her trainer Ngo Okafor. Usually, her circuits involve bodyweight training or equipment she can find at home, but the star has also intensified her workouts with a stability ball and ankle weights.
Last week, Shields did a live workout with Okafor that focused on her glutes and abs. For this one, she used a stability ball to go through a quick, 20-minute circuit made up of three exercises. Follow along below to feel the burn:
Shields says keeping up with exercise is a bit of a new passion, and appreciates how social media has helped her build a community. “People my age can get crossed off at a certain point—like you’ve had a good run, you’ve had your kids, you’ve had your career, you’re done,” she said. “Meanwhile, in my 50s, I feel physically better than ever. We can really inspire each other right now to do something within our power to feel better. We’re all here to offer support—and I’m not going anywhere.”
